Hello Grafted In Readers,
Today is November 12 in my corner of blog-land. Windy conditions and isolated flood warnings are to be the mix, with snow flurries possible early weekend in my region. Warming up again though next week!
-Today as author of Grafted In And On The Journey Blogspot.com,
please join me in giving honor to National Epilepsy Awareness Month.
*****
Here are some interesting starter facts:
(1) About three million US residents are said to have the brain disorder, epilepsy.
(2). According to www.scccmh.org, (Saint Clair County Community Mental Health), there are several types of epilepsy.
(3) Each type has its own cause, symptoms, and treatment protocol.
(4) Given the numbers, epilepsy is the most common neurological disorder in the US.
-Salute the Epilepsy Foundation and its web site,
www.epilepsy.com
-Frequently updated newsletters and news items. The latter in audio form.
-Host the National Walk for Epilepsy and November's National Epilepsy Awareness month.
-For the aquatic minded, go the distance and find out how to sign up to swim 26 miles over a few months, to raise epilepsy awareness to a deeper level. Link is above.
Sites such as webMD.com, and medicinenet.com offer more detailed info about this disorder.
I am sure we have or have had acquaintances known to be challenged by this disorder. The good news is that it is manageable and in many cases treatable. One approach is offered by Scripture in the Apostolic writings, Colossians 4:6.
"Let your speech always be with grace as though seasoned with salt so that you will know how you should respond to each person."
Meantime, Kevod Yeheveh, His presence guard your mind today and always!
