Put Another Nickel In (1950s song, Theresa Brewer

Hello Grafted in Reader,

Today is Thursday, November 13, 2025 in my corner of blog land.

This post is for all of us, young, not so young, elderly, man, woman, boy, girl, it.

Jukeboxes may well be a novelty of the past as will soon be the American coin, the penny.

On Wednesday, November 12, 2025 the Associated Press reported:

US Mint presses final pennies as production ends

AP News

 — The U.S. has ended production of the penny. The last 1-cent coins were made Wednesday at the mint in Philadelphia.

Me:  Also, the longest Federal Government shutdown in US recorded history ended Wednesday evening. The House of Representatives, in a close vote along party lines, basically said to employees, Go back to work. This measure is good until the end of January 2026.

In 1954, then popular singer, Theresa Brewer, recorded the song, Put Another Nickel In.

You can possibly find this song via Google.

Of course, the way one gets their music now days is quite different fromn seventy years ago. Anyone remember cassettes?

Until next visit, may the Lord bless and keep us.
