Hello Grafted In Readers,
Today is Friday, October 10, 2025 in my corner of blog land, World Mental Health Day. This according to the World Health Org who say in their post:
10 October is World Mental Health Day
The overall objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health.
The Day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide.
My big contribution to the day is to wish you and yours Happy Mental Health, let you know of my forthcoming short story collection titled, From My Red Chair: A Short Story Collection, David C. Russell.
This is tentatively to be published during the first quarter of 2026. Stay tuned!
Another is to practice what I need to do to ensure my own mental health care. Usually that boils down to: talking with a trusted friend or my wife, prayer and reflection, reading the Psalms, reading fiction, light exercise not overdoing it, rest, listening to music, a little cussing to be quite honest, a mini-vacation.
I suppose many of us silently carry out a plan to tend to our mental health just as we do our physical and spiritual health. The three are interwoven IMHO.
Until our next visit, God bless and keep us continually.
Mellow Rock
David C. Russell
